New Toy For Me

Last Monday, I bought myself a new Nikon D40. It's a SLR camera and it 's cost me RM2.4K. Actually I'm not an avid photographer. But after holding on to the P&S camera (point & shoot) for so long, there was a sudden urge to 'upgrade' myself. So after scouting around for the best price, one shop at Pertama Complex (Selangor Photo) offered me the best price. It's RM1800 for basic without memory card, filter and flash. So all in all it's about RM2400. I've yet to tell my wife about it. Maybe I'll show it to her on saturday during our open house.

Acting must be good

Yesterday afternoon, my successor from E&UD came to the office. I've briefed him about the structure and things that I've been doing as Group Mgr-ESH for E&UD. After much 'goreng' he seems very impress with what I've done. Hmm... now I'm wondering whether did I do all that? What I know is that I did not do it personally but I've made it happened. That is what leaders do. My opinion on this guy, he won't last. After my briefing, he went to see JL. They talked for about 2 hours. I asked JL opinion on this guy. He's quite reserve but I can sense he's also thinking the same thing.

Today my old university buddies asked me to joint them for buka puasa at Sri Petaling. Hopefully I can meet Najib Tok Batin. It's been almost 2 decades that I've not met him. Wonder how is their reaction meeting me afterward. Gomen was very suprised to see the physical side of me. As for him he has not change much except for some gray hairs. As for the rest of the guys .... Najip Antu, Abu China, Bahrain Keling, Chaq etc. I was not close to them then. So probably we'll be very casual.

Talking about old friends, there are some friends that I really would like to meet. Friends like Samri, Salleh Jawa, Duck Bakar, Ngerot, Norizam, Wah Derus, Ajak, Raisudin, Mat Pisang just to name a few. Wonder how they are now.

This is what I call efficient

Received the transfer letter from Rais yesterday. The letter just stated that I was re-assigned back to SD Holdings Bhd. effective 1st Oct 07. I've yet to receive the appointment letter from Berhad. My new boss HIAH has yet to brief me on anything. When I bumped into him he keep saying that " I'll come and talk to you soon". But until today... hampeh.

There're a few things that I need to know. Such as am I going to get a temporary car ( + petrol card) until my new car arrived? What will happen to my balance of leave? What about handphone claim? And many-many more.

One thing I notice here is that everybody seems to be very busy. I for one sure are free as hell most of the time. How do you think I'm able to continue blogging. And there are soooo many people here. What the hell are they doing? I don't know and I don't want to know. Just stay the hell out of my way and I stay the hell out of yours.

New Broom Sweep Well

Today the guy who'll be replacing me report for duty. He was introduced by Rais this morning as Amin. From what I can see, DKK gak nye. Born in Penang and now residing in Subang Jaya. No wonder my new boss immediately agreed to take him in with or without JL agreement. Let's hope that this new guy can wok well with DMSB.

I was hoping to meet my new boss today. but he was nowhere in sight. Tomorrow I'm going to PG with Steven. So I can only see him maybe on Friday. Bukan apa, just to inform him that I'm already on board, ready for action. Kena la grease sikit. Nak idup beb.

Kaching...Kaching

That is the sound of money coming in. Check my maybank2u this morning. Seems like the bonus is already in. manage to transfer some to my current account so that I can pay my credit card. This time I plan to pay a total of RM20K for my 2 cards. At least it'll bring down my monthly amount.

Marzuki replied my mail on the Bandung trip. Seems that he cannot go b'cos of bla bla bla. I immediately reply that the trip is now cancel. That really jolt him up. He immediately shot back an e-mail that we can still go without him. I said we go as one or no go at all. Meanwhile, made plans with Nizam to go to Jakarta with Foo SC. Asked Nizam to plan with his his buddy there. The date proposed is just nice. Pity if we can't go this year. If Foo can't go, will try to rope Fendi in. We'll see la how.

2nd day

2nd day at work. Arrive early at 7.30 am. Manage to park at level 1. I was told at level 1 only grade 7 is allowed but saw a lot of grade 6 parked there including Joe Leong. Found a 'good' spot to park. Maybe it'll become my permanent parking spot now.

Went to MSL office early with Fendi to deliver the digital camera to Shukor. While demonstrating the operation, battery pulak 'kong'. Sorry lah Kor, gotta buy new battery. Fendi is going to Perth tomorrow for his ALDP training. Heard that his bonus is quite good. 4 months. That is with a "Good" rating. He said average bonus for "Good" rating at WSD is from 3.75 - 4.0 For "VG" is 4.0 - 4.30. Hmm.... better lagi kat E&U. At least for a "VG" you'll get 4.8 (just like moir).

1st Day At Work

Today is my first day at work in this beautiful building. Everybody seems to be scurrying doing god-knows-what and everybody dressed elegantly (including yours truly). Eventhough I'm not "formally" in yet but the TQM team here made me feel welcome. My key card are ready as well as my parking bay and transponder (wow...sound hi-tech). I've yet to get my new laptop but heard that the capex has already been approved and currently procurement dept. is procuring it. Hope they give me a good one.

I'll try to post my thought and things that is happening in this part of the building from time to time. This blog is created just for me to put on record my thought at the time of things that is going on around this part of the office. So for now, welcome abort boss!! (eventhough I don't feel like one now).

BTW, today is my birthday. Since it's Ramadan month, so no celebration. Hmm... where's that kedai mamak again bro?
